Pour cette 6è édition, le monde du sport a été célébré. Deux icônes, la sprinteuse Ta Lou Gonezie Marie Josée Dominique et le maracanier Bleu Louan Jean Charlemagne ont été honoré.

Le dernier cité, a remporté le prix du meilleur encadreur sportif et est le président de la Fédération Ivoirienne de Maracana et Disciplines Associées (FIMADA) depuis mars 2017. Il succède ainsi à Allangba Eric Laurent.

La double championne d’Afrique du 100 et 200m, succède à Gbagbi Ruth Marie Christelle pour le prix du meilleur athlète. MJTL vit une année faste avec notamment le prix Nelson Mandela de la meilleure sportive Africaine
