La 40e édition des championnats d’Afrique a été lancée par la Fédération Ivoirienne Handball hier mercredi 10 octobre 2018 au cours d’une cérémonie au siège de Confédération Africaine de Handball (CAHB) à Abidjan/ Plateau.
Prévue du 18 au 29 Octobre prochain à Abidjan, la grande compétition des clubs a été officiellement lancée. C’est le président de la Fédération Ivoirienne de Handball, M. Karaboué Aboubacar qui a présidé la cérémonie au cours d’une conférence de presse en présence du Directeur Sportif de la CAHB, M. Assemien Noel et du représentant du Ministre des Sports Ivoirien.
La FIHB veut profiter de l’organisation de cette compétition pour donner au handball ivoirien ces notes de noblesse qu’elle a perdue depuis quelques années au dire du premier responsable du handball Ivoirien.
Notons que cette compétition va accueillir plus de 400 participants issus de 10 pays. Ce sont la salle polyvalente et le dôme du palais des Sports de Treichville qui accueilleront les différentes rencontres de la compétition. Les quatre premiers de chaque poule seront qualifiés pour les quarts de finales.
