Marie Josée Ta Lou au terme de cette deuxième journée a confirmé son bon état de forme. Elle décroche ainsi le titre de Championne d’Afrique ce jeudi 2 août 2018 à Asaba au Nigéria. D’autres Ivoiriens ont également remporté des médailles lors de ces premières finales de cette compétition. Voici le récit de cette journée assez spéciale pour la Côte d’Ivoire dans ce championnat d’Afrique d’Athlétisme.
Au programme de cette journée, nos Eléphants furent engagés dans 4 disciplines avec de grandes chances de médailles : à savoir le 100m haies féminin, le 100m hommes et femmes et le saut en longueur.
Pour la première discipline, avec 3 compatriotes sur la piste, Ziketh Karel, Yohon Bailly et Okou Rosvitha. C’est la dernière au couloir 5 qui a décroché la médaille de bronze au 100m haies avec un temps de 13.39 et offre la première médaille à la Côte d’Ivoire.
Pour l’épreuve reine du 100m féminin, Marie Josée Ta Lou au couloir 4 était la seule Ivoirienne qualifiée pour la finale et a su répondre aux attentes . Elle décroche la médaille d’or avec un chrono de 11.15, après avoir été à deux reprises classée 3è aux précédents championnats de 2014 et 2016.
Dans le 100m hommes, le capitaine Méité finit au pied du poduim avec un chrono de 10.36 tandis que Arthur Cissé remporte la médaille d’argent en 10.33.
Les Eléphants ont déjà glané 3 médailles dont 1 en or, 1 en argent et 1 en bronze. La compétition se poursuit pour d’autres chances de médailles.
