Après 1 semaine de compétition, le handball Ivoirien a terminé à la seconde place derrière la Guinée, lors du tournoi de la CEDEAO en catégories cadettes.
Après 6 journées de compétition, la Guinée avec 8 points (+21) a fini leader et la Côte d’Ivoire avec 8 points (+4) se contente de la seconde place. La différence de buts a permis de séparer les 2 nations qui comptabilisent chacune 4 victoires pour 2 défaites. Au final, la Côte d’Ivoire a battu à deux reprises le Nigéria, enregistrée 2 victoires face au Bénin et a concédé ses défaites face à la Guinée.
Cette prestation des Ivoiriennes lors de ce tournoi, demeure encourageante et marque le retour du handball ivoirien sur le plan sous régional.
