Cinq pays de la sous –région participent depuis le 27 Octobre 2018 à un stage régional pour entraîneur et arbitres d’Aviron Niveau 1 à Abidjan. Ces pays sont : la Côte d’Ivoire, le Togo, le Bénin, le Nigeria et la Guinée.
Cette formation qui prendra fin le 5 novembre prochain est organisé par la Fédération ivoirienne de Pirogue, Canoë-kayak et Aviron (Fipcka), sous l’égide la Fédération internationale des Sociétés d’Aviron (World Rowing Fédération).
Le stage qui se tient au Palace Hotel de l’Ile Boulay, en partenariat avec la Solidarité Olympique (SO) et le Comité national olympique de Côte d’Ivoire (Cno-Civ), vise l’amélioration des performances aussi bien des athlètes, entraîneurs, que des arbitres afin de mieux rivaliser avec leurs adversaires sur la scène internationale. Ainsi, 17 athlètes, 5 entraîneurs et 7 arbitres sont présents à ce stage animé par deux experts de la World Rowing Federation: Michel Doutre , pour les arbitres et Alain Gaime pour les entraîneurs.
Notons que ce stage de formation est couplé avec le 1er championnat régional d’Aviron de l’Afrique de l’Ouest qui aura lieu le samedi 03 novembre sur le plan d’eau lagunaire de Yopougon Azito mais du côté de la rive de l’île Boulay. Par ailleurs, ce mercredi 31 octobre 2018, les cinq pays présents à Abidjan, mettront en place l’Union ouest africaine d’Aviron.
