La ligue 2 Pro saison 2018-2019 initialement prévu pour débuter le vendredi 28 septembre, débutera finalement le vendredi 5 octobre avec 24 clubs divisés en 2 poules.
La poule A est composée du Séwé Sports de San Pedro, Espérance Bouaké, Mouna FC, ES Bingerville, Cosmos FC, Stella Club Adjamé, As Athletic, Ivoire Académie, As Denguélé, Issia Wazi, RFC Yakro et US Fermiers.
La poule B comprend le Stade d’Abidjan, Sirocco FC, RFC Aboisso, Songon FC, SOL FC, JCAT, EFYM, OFC Adiaké, CO Korhogo, CO Bouaflé, IFER et ES Bafing.
Les 12 clubs de chaque poule s’affronteront en aller et retour. Après 22 journées, le champion de chaque poule sera promu en MTN Ligue 1 lors de la saison 2019-2020.
Pour cette nouvelle saison, la division compte 5 nouveaux clubs composés de 3 promus issus de la division 3 : Espérance Bouaké, Mouna FC et RFC Aboisso ainsi que 2 relégués en provenance de l’élite, à savoir le Séwé Sports de San Pedro et le Stade d’Abidjan. L’anti chambre du football local compte cette saison, 3 clubs champions : le Stade d’Abidjan, le Stella Club d’Adjamé et le Séwé Sports de San Pedro pour un total de 11 titres.
